Taiwan-Australia University Profiling Seminar
University of Sydney, 6-7 April 2006
The purpose of the Taiwan-Australia Profiling Seminar, meeting with the Australian Vice-Chancellors Committee, and site visits to Australian research facilities is to foster international understanding and bilateral links between Australia and Taiwan. The events will emphasise opportunities for collaboration in the fields of nanotechnology/biotechnology, and creative industries, though participants will also have opportunities to discuss cooperative engagement in other fields.
Through these activities, university leaders from both Taiwan and Australia will be able to:
profile the strengths of their universities and countries; gain a better understanding of each country’s research capabilities in biotechnology, nanotechnology, and creative industries; identify opportunities for bilateral collaboration with partner universities; The Seminar and AVCC meeting will be followed by practical engagement activities in Australia in July 2006 featuring professors and researchers from the universities participating in the April Seminar. The July delegation is to be led by Education Minister Tu Cheng-Sheng.
These activities provide an excellent opportunity for Taiwanese universities to bolster their internationalisation efforts and achieve international collaboration targets in accordance with Ministry of Education priorities.
